999 call system still disrupted
The 999 system provided to all three emergency services by BT is still disrupted so we're encouraging people living in Sefton to only call 999 in a genuine emergency and to instead use our digital options wherever possible.
So what's an emergency?
Someone's life is in danger
Someone is being violent or threatening to use violence
Someone is seriously injured
Someone is causing serious damage to a property
A crime is in progress (i.e. happening now)
A person believed to have committed a serious crime is still at the scene
A person has been detained at the scene of a crime and poses a risk to other people
A road traffic collision has happened and someone is injured or the road is blocked and major disruption is being caused or other road users are at risk
For everything else, we've got a lovely team of contact resolution officers in our 24/7 control room who will reply to non-emergency, non-urgent crime reports, questions and concerns about crime and policing issues submitted through our website and social media pages.
Visit https://orlo.uk/9W2EG or send a direct (private) message to the 'Merseyside Police Contact Centre' Facebook page (or DM Merseyside Police Contact Centre if you prefer Twitter).
We'll update all our pages when the national issue affecting 999 is resolved.
