A Blooming Surprise: Michaela Strachan to Attend Southport Flower Show
Southport Flower Show are delighted to announce that Michaela Strachan will be joining us on the first day of this year’s Southport Flower Show.
Michaela Strachan is a well-known British TV presenter. She has been presenting since 1986 on a variety of programmes from the successful children’s magazine show, The Wide-Awake Club to the late night music show, The Hitman And Her.
She presented The Really Wild Show, a children’s wildlife programme for the BBC for 15 years as well as a children’s wildlife challenge programme called Michaela’s Wild Challenge which she won a BAFTA for best children’s presenter.
She later moved into adult wildlife TV and presented many series including Elephant Diaries, Orangutan Diaries and Countryfile for the BBC. She presented the live show ‘Safari Live’ for Nat Geo Wild. She has presented many wildlife series on Animal Planet including Animal Rescue Squad, Postcards from the Wild and Big 5, Little 5. She now presents the hugely popular series Springwatch, Autumnwatch and Winterwatch for the BBC which she joined in 2011.
Michaela has travelled all over the world filming animals and conservation projects.

She will join other celebrities including BBC Broadcaster, TV personality, DJ and Southport’s own Adele Roberts who is opening this year’s show on Thursday 15th August”.
Southport Flower Show, sponsored by The Seventy Ninth Group, is the UK’s largest independent flower show and attracts over 55,000 visitors across 4 days.
Visitors to this year’s show can enjoy inspirational show gardens, spectacular floral displays, gardening advice, show jumping, pop-up shopping village, cookery demonstrations, live music, arena entertainment and so much more!
Gardening guests at this year’s show are Carole Baxter and George Anderson from Beechgrove Garden, Adam Frost from BBC Gardeners’ World, David Domoney from Love Your Garden and the Skinny Jean Gardener from Blue Peter.
Celebrity chefs at this year’s show are Platinum Pudding winner Jemma Melvin, Matt Tebbutt from Saturday Kitchen, Nisha Katona MBE - restaurateur, cookbook author and TV chef, Simon Rimmer from Sunday Brunch and Phil Vickery of This Morning.
Special guests confirmed to date are CBeebeies Star Justin Fletcher and Janette Manrara and Aljaž Skorjanec from Strictly Come Dancing.

Early bird tickets are available until Wednesday 14th August. Buy your tickets early and save. Tickets are flexible and can be used on any one of the show days. Children under 16 go free with a paying adult. Well behaved dogs are allowed on leads.
