A Person was struck by a train last night between Formby and Southport

Buses replaced rail services between Formby and Southport after a person was hit by a train between the destinations on Saturday night.

National Rail Enquiries reported just before midnight that all lines were blocked and that trains running between the stations would start and terminate at Formby. Disruption is expected until the end of service.

No information has been released about the person who was hit.
