Big Help Project to Sponsor Southport's Isle of Man Trip
Southport FC are delighted to announce that Club partner, Big Help Project, will sponsor this weekend’s pre-season visit to play FC Isle of Man this evening.
This will be the first time that Port has played on the Manx island in the middle of the Irish Sea, and the first time that the Club has played “overseas” for a pre-season fixture since the mid-1960s.
As part of its support for our pre-season campaign, Big Help has also kindly agreed to provide a trophy, aptly named The Big Help Invitational Cup. The presentation of this trophy to the winning team after tomorrow’s game will mark the beginning of a permanent feature throughout all future pre-season campaigns.
Head of Commercial and Operations, Steve Dewsnip said, “We have been blown away by the interest in this pre-season fixture from not only our many fantastic supporters who we are aware are making the trip to the Isle of Man this weekend, but by the enthusiasm and support from Big Help Project too. We are looking forward to establishing good links with our hosts, FC Isle of Man and this visit would not be possible without the support of Big Help for which we are very grateful.”
Big Help’s CEO Peter Mitchell said, “Big Help Project has been welcomed with open arms since announcing our partnership with Southport FC, and we are incredibly grateful for that. This weekend’s game is undoubtedly the start of an even brighter future for the team, and we are looking forward to presenting the winners with our Big Help Invitational Cup – whichever team that may be!”.
Tomorrow’s friendly between FC Isle of Man and Southport takes place at The Bowl, Pulrose Road, Douglas, Isle of Man IM2 1RB, kick-off 7.30pm.
