Bridge Construction Disrupts Merseyrail's Southport Line Services

Due to Network Rail replacing a bridge that crosses the River Alt in Formby, Merseyrail's Southport line services will be disrupted until Friday 23rd August.

While the work to replace the bridge with a new concrete structure, is carried out trains will be unable to run between Hall Road and Formby.

Rail replacement buses will operate between Hall Road and Formby, calling at Hightown.

In addition, there will be non-stop buses running between Southport and Hall Road from approximately 06:30 to 09:00 and 16:00 to 18:30.

Journey times will be extended for these five days and passengers are advised to allow additional time for their journeys.

A normal timetable will resume from the start of service on Saturday 24th August.
