Bus and traffic diversions on Waterloo Road in Southport from this weekend

On Saturdays and Sundays 18th/19th December 2021, 8th/9th January 2022 and 15th/16th January 2022, 22nd/23rd January 2022 and 29th/30th January 2022 from 1900 until 0700 Waterloo Road, Hillside will be closed in both directions at the railway bridge from the junction of Lynton Road to the junction of Hastings Road. The closure is expected to be in place for 5 weekends overnight.

Bus diversions are as follows:

Route 47 wil operate as normal from Liverpool to Birkdale, Liverpool Road then continue via Liverpool Road to Weld Road to Lulworth Road to resume normal route to Southport and Crossens. The return service operates via the reverse of the diversion (Omitting Waterloo Road and a section of Lulworth Road.)
