Coffee, Mosque, and Bikes; Southport's Innovative Theft Control Measures

bike locked to a fence

A number of bikes have been stolen in the Southport area recently. A man found in possession of a large pair of bolt cutters was arrested in the town centre last week and two stolen bikes have been able to have been returned to their rightful owners due to being added to the national Bike Register database.

We have held recent bike registration events at Dunes: Splashworld and Fletchers Solicitors on Hoghton Street, where we added more bikes to the database.
Our next two events will be:

FRIDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER FROM 11:00AM - 1:00PM at the BE FREE COFFEE HOUSE, LAKESIDE CHURCH, FAIRWAY, PR9 0LA (Cuppa with a Copper, opportunity to meet Neighbourhood Officers)

SUNDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER FROM 3:00PM - 6:00PM at SOUTHPORT MOSQUE, SUSSEX ROAD, PR9 0SL (where Neighbourhood Officers will be present at the Mosque 'Open day'.)

Bring your bike, old or new to be added to the Bike Register database and help us reduce the risk of bikes being stolen and help any that are to get back to their rightful owners.
