Crown Court Awaits 17-Year-Old Charged in Fatal Attack on Southport Dance Class

A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with murdering three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport.

The suspect, who cannot legally be named due to his age, has also been charged with 10 counts of attempted murder after eight other children and two adults were seriously injured on Monday.

The boy, who is from the Lancashire village of Banks, appeared at a youth court in Liverpool, also charged with possession of a bladed article.

District judge James Hatton said he was sending the case to crown court and told the defendant he would appear there later.
Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, died after the attack on Hart Street, just before midday on Monday.

Eight children and two adults were also seriously injured.
