Emergency Guidelines for Southport Amid Snowfall Predictions
Police advice...
A weather warning for snow and ice has been issued by the Met Office for the whole of #Merseyside over this weekend.
A yellow warning for ice has been issued from 4pm today (3 January) until 10am tomorrow (4 January). This will then increase to an amber warning for snow and ice from 6pm tomorrow (4 January) until 12pm on Sunday (5 January).
Please remember if you are travelling while the weather warning is in place:
Check the weather forecast and any road closures before travelling
Fully clear your windows and mirrors before leaving
Keep a greater distance between yourself and the vehicle in front
Allow extra time to complete your journey
Keep your mobile fully charged in case of emergencies
Be aware of, and anticipate, that the condition of the roads will be different to normal.
Pack warm clothes, snacks, and drinks just in case you're stuck
Drive to the road conditions and stay safe.
