Emergency services in search for missing man

Holyhead MRCC tasked the team, along with support from HM Coastguard Crosby, HM Coastguard Lytham our Senior Coastal Operations Officer and Rescue 936 (Coastguard helicopter) to assist Sefton Police in an ongoing search for a missing person last seen at Formby beach.

Assistance was also provided by our SAR colleagues Southport Offshore Rescue Trust who provided lifeboat, drone and quad bikes and Merseyside Lowland Search and Rescue.

Additional air support was provided by Police helicopter (NPAS) and fixed wing aircraft.

With no trace of the casualty, and enquiries continuing further inland all assets were stood down at 2330.
