Fire causes major disruption on Merseyrail Southport and other northern lines

Merseyrail commented...

Due to a fire next to the track at Liverpool Cntrl Northern the Hunts Cross line is blocked. Disruption is expected until 16:30 25/07.
Impact:
Train services between Southport and Hunts Cross may be terminated at and started back from Sandhills.
Additional Information:
A rail replacement bus service is now in operation calling Sandhills to Moorfields and then stations on the Hunts Cross line.
