Garden Designer Arit Anderson Joins Lineup for Annual Southport Flower Show

Garden Designer and TV Presenter joins this year’s Southport Flower Show line-up

We’re delighted to announce that Arit Anderson, garden designer, writer, and presenter onBBC Two’s Gardeners' World, will be joining us onFriday 21st August.

Having spent 25 years working in the dynamic industries of retail fashion and creative events, where she enabled her to combined her analytical and creative skills. Arit balanced this fast-paced career with personal interests in well-being. She worked as a part-time therapist in London and taught holistic therapies, which led her to travel extensively in the USA.

Through the joy of having her own garden, Arit found that the visual nature of fashion and the healing properties of her therapies could beautifully meld in the garden. This became a passion and drove her to explore the unique relationships between plants, people and place.

Arit enrolled to study gardening at Capel Manor College where her collaboration with two other students won the Fresh Talent category at RHS Chelsea 2013. After being awarded a diploma in garden design, Arit designed and delivered her own show garden that won a Gold Medal in the Conceptual category at RHS Hampton Court in 2016.

Arit’s designs for both private and commercial clients include her ethos of simplicity and environmental sensitivity – affecting her choice of products and plants at source, with regard to their future setting. Arit created Diamond Hill Garden Design to offer a garden design and care service in London and surrounding counties while her work has taken her as far afield as DeiàDeia, Majorca.

Working as a presenter for Gardeners’ World, and writing for national publications has enabled Arit to publicise issues about the future of gardening in an ever-changing climate, and to promote solutions to the wider public.

Arit will join fellowGardeners' World presenter Adam Frost(Thursday),TV chef Phil Vickery(Friday),Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke, andchildren’s TV presenter Andy Day(Saturday) as part of this year’s special guest line-up. More exciting announcements will be revealed shortly.

This year’sSouthport Flower Showwill be held at the wonderfulVictoria ParkfromThursday 20th to Sunday 23rd August. Visitors can enjoy inspirational show gardens, spectacular floral displays, amateur grower exhibits, live entertainment, music, and so much more — making it a fantastic day out for all ages.
