Hesketh Road in Southport. Residents protest against Openreach telegraph poles

Residents of Hesketh Road and the surrounding area were out in force this morning (2nd September) blocking the pavement with their vehicles in an effort to stop Openreach from installing telegraph poles along the road.

Some residents described the poles as ugly. Others said that Virgin Media had already installed underground cables along the road so there was no need for poles.

Peaceful protests will continue until the situation can be resolved.
