Hit and run Banastre Road in Southport

There was a hit-and-run accident on Banastre Road in Southport this evening. A black car that appears to be a Nissan Micra hit a stationary van causing damage to the nearside front wheel and tyre. The driver of the Nissan did not stop at the scene of the accident.

The Nissan appeared to be badly damaged as it struggled to drive away with smoke coming from the tyres.
