Kettering Town v Southport preview

Southport are on the road once again on Tuesday with a long midweek trip to Kettering for a rearranged fixture. Not the kindest rearrangement four days before Christmas but with the lads in great form it’s another game that clears any backlog of fixtures. All this is of course subject to any rulings that may be issued in the next 24 hours about football continuing.

Kettering sit in 15th place and had a superb 4-0 win at Leamington on Saturday whilst Southport were progressing to the fourth round of the FA Trophy after a 3-0 triumph at Farsley.

The Southport turnaround in form has been remarkable, now unbeaten in 12 games in all competitions which has seen a rise up the table into 7th place.

Kettering have two home wins, 1-0 against Bradford and 4-0 against Blyth.

It will be most Southport fans first visit to Burton Latimer as the only other visit ended up as a behind closed doors game which saw David Morgan grab the only goal. It’s the third ground we have visited to play Kettering with Rockingham Road and Nene Park also hosting their games.
