Large police presence in Southport today reassuring the public
There were large numbers of police in Southport town centre today. Officers were out on patrol reassuring the public. Rumours were spread that the police station on Albert Road was going to be attacked at 2.00 pm but nothing occurred. Several town centre businesses were advised to close early.
Walking around the town centre it was very quiet. One restaurant owner told me that many people had called to cancel bookings.
Meanwhile the floral tribute to the three children killed in Monday's horrific attack continues to grow outside The Atkinson.
