Liam's Persistence Pays Off - Marcus to Rejoin Southport FC on Season Long Loan

Southport FC are delighted to bring the news that Marcus will be back in a Southport shirt for the upcoming season, subject to final confirmation from the FA.

He rejoins the club on a season long loan from Scunthorpe United.

Liam has been working very hard over the last few weeks to get this deal over the line and is pleased to have finally got his man. Liam added “We all know what he can do, he gave us a lift when he came in on loan last season, on and off the pitch. He hasn’t enjoyed the best of times since leaving Southport and from speaking to him he wants to get back to a place he knows he is loved and enjoy his football again”

Marcus was a real fans favourite before leaving the club to join Hartlepool and then moved on to Scunthorpe.

He has 43 starts and 7 subs to his name for Southport in all competitions and has 23 goals to his credit, 18 in the league.
