Local Councillors welcome work on Lidl beginning

Lib Dem Councillors for Crossens are welcoming that construction has now begun on the new Lidl in Marine Drive which is set to open later this year.

Cllr Gareth Lloyd-Johnson said: “It’s great to see that work is now starting on the Lidl on Marine Drive. When it’s finished it will be great for residents in Crossens, Churchtown and Marshside to have a supermarket in the area and it will be welcome to have another employer.”

Cllr John Dodd added: “Every building project like this has to agree with the council a plan to make sure that disruption is minimised when building work is carried out as part of the planning application. This means agreeing things like times when work can take place or routes for large lorries and trucks. We ask that these agreements are stuck to and respected.”

Cllr Lauren Keith commented: “If any residents are concerned about excessive disruption during the building work please contact us and we will raise it with the Council.”
