Lifeboat called to rescue vessel in difficulty in Ribble estuary.

Southport ILB, the Christopher Taylor, was requested to launch by Holyhead Coastguard to assist a vessel in difficulty in the River Ribble. As both of Lytham St Anne's RNLI page lifeboats were otherwise engaged in a separate incident, our ILB launched at Southport and proceeded to assist.

Shortly before reaching the River Ribble, Lytham ILB was released from its initial tasking and was able to make contact with the distressed vessel.  Our ILB was then stood down and returned to station, while Lytham ILB towed the vessel to safety.
