Man charged after Cedar Farm theft

Last week, we told you about an arrest we had made following the theft of items at a store at Cedar Farm and we wanted to give you an update.


It was reported to us that on 3rd June, 2024, around £285 worth of goods were taken from display cabinets at the store in Mawdesley.


Simon Ferguson, 34, of Eskbank, Skelmersdale has been charged with theft from a shop and appeared at Preston Magistrates on Friday where he was bailed to appear in court again on 31st July 2024.


Operation Vulture is Lancashire Constabulary’s response to shoplifting across the county.


The operation will see dedicated officers undertaking hotspot patrolling, increasing their visibility in targeted areas and creating strong partnerships with retailers across the county to better share intelligence, get a deeper understanding of retail crime and identify more offenders.
