Martin Mere near Southport and other Wetland centres to close on day of Queens funeral
We are deeply saddened to hear about the death of Her Majesty the Queen, who we were privileged to have as WWT Patron for many decades, before she handed the role to her son, now His Majesty King Charles III.
Our thoughts are with her family, and with the entire nation, as we remember and mourn our monarch after a life of extraordinary service.
As a mark of respect, we will be closing our wetland centres on the day of the state funeral, Monday 19 September. We will reopen again on Tuesday 20th.
If you were planning to visit on 19th September we hope you can join us on another day and look forward to welcoming you.
The Queen was an integral part of WWT’s history and her lifelong love of nature will stand as a lasting legacy.
