Match Report. Chester 0 Southport 0
A solid defensive display from The Sandgrounders gave Southport a point on the road at Chester.
All credit to the home side for getting the game on with roads closed and flooded fields all around, the pitch was in perfect condition.
A game of very few chances with the home side probably shading it over all but late on we could have snatched an unlikely win with two glorious chances in added time that could have seen all three points return to Southport.
As it was it was another blank on the road with just 6 goals for from our 11 games on our travels and no goal on the road since the 1-1 draw at Oxford but, ahead of the game everyone was saying they would be happy to bring a point back home and that was achieved.
Four points out of six over the two festive matches is a good return and we head off for a break from league action with a trip to Southend in the FA Trophy.
