Merseyrail new trains are useless

A simple journey to Chester today which I have done many times. Southport station and a new 777 class is waiting. Sat on the most uncomfortable seat ever waiting to leave. The lights go out . Apparently, there is a technical problem. Five minutes later this service has been cancelled. Everybody off and onto a 3 carriage old bone shaker that is now packed to the rafters. Arrive at Central sweating.

Onto the Wirral line no problems apart from a numb bum.

Return journey another new 777 to Moorfields gets as far as Hooton and conks out. A muffled announcement about another technical problem but we get going again only to be asked to leave the train at Port Sunlight as is now out of service.

We wait for the train behind in the lashing rain and make it to Moorfields.

A three car service is our ride back to Southport,absolutely heaving with people .
