Merseyside Fire Service called to Southport Promenade after smoke billows from traffic bollard

Merseyside Fire And Rescue Service were called to Southport Promenade this afternoon 14th December after a member of the public reported smoke pouring from a traffic bollard at the junction of Marine Parade.

Firefighters used a C02 extinguisher to put the small fire out. An electrical fault is thought to be the cause. It was made safe and cordoned off until it can be repaired.
