More bad news for Merseyrail passengers

Due to ongoing poor weather related issues there will be some changes to Merseyrail services on Wednesday 8 January.

The first trains of the day will run without customers to ensure lines are clear and safe for use.

In addition to this, there will be disruption on the Chester & Ellesmere Port lines: 

Chester & Ellesmere Port lines

Disruption is expected to continue throughout tomorrow on the Chester & Ellesmere Port lines.

A 30-minute train service will be running between Ellesmere Port and Hooton, calling at all stations.

Trains will depart from Ellesmere port at 19 and 49 minutes past the hour, first departure at 06:19 and last departure 23:19.


Trains will depart from Hooton at 05 and 35 minutes past the hour, first departure at 06:35 and last departure 00:05.
Rail replacement buses will be running every 30 minutes between Rock Ferry and Chester, calling at all stations.

A 15-minute train service will be running between Rock Ferry and Liverpool city centre. 

Trains will depart from Rock Ferry at 06, 21, 36 and 51 minutes past the hour.
Trains will depart from Moorfields at 03, 18, 33 and 48 mins past the hour 
Merseyrail tickets will be accepted on Transport for Wales services between Chester and Liverpool.
