Motorist has lucky escape after plastic pipes smash into his windscreen on Southport's Marine Drive

The driver of this vehicle and his two passengers had a lucky escape at about 2.30 this afternoon on the Marine Drive in Southport. As they were travelling back to Bradford an insecure load of plastic pipes on another vehicle smashed into the windscreen covering the occupants with glass.

Fortunately the driver was able to stop the vehicle and guide it onto the cycle path . All escaped with any injuries. The vehicle will be a right off according to the driver.
