People invited to 'Shop Local' as new Beales opens in Southport this Thursday
People are being invited to ‘Shop Local’ when the new Beales opens in Southport at 9.30am this Thursday (12th August).
The venture on Lord Street will include several concessions run by well-known local businesses, in an innovative new way for a large department store to operate.
Vouchers of up to £200 will also be given out to the first 150 shoppers as the new Beales looks forward to opening with a bang.
Beales CEO Tony Brown said: “There is a fair bit going in! But we are very happy with how things are going so far.
“We are looking forward to our Grand Opening at 9.30am this Thursday (12th August).
“We have spent an awful lot of time, money and energy to get here.
“I have travelled thousands of miles getting everything ready.
“We are putting absolutely everything into this.
“We won’t be totally there from day one. Our new Remedy at Beales cafe will probably be ready to open next week. They are trying to do everything they can. But most of our concessions will be ready to open on Thursday.”
Tony Brown now has an important message for people - please support Beales and the other shops, restaurants and other businesses in Southport.
The firm opened its first new store in Poole in Dorset last year, with the second at Peterborough earlier this year. Choosing Southport as their third location is a huge boost of confidence for our town.
The new Beales is different to other department stores in that it hosts a number of local concessions. Shoppers will recognise popular local firms such as Remedy, Lucy Lou’s Boutique, Plaza Cards, Molloys Furnishers, In Time, Miss Attire, Naked Peak and others. More may soon follow.
It is a store that really does support local businesses.
Tony Brown said: “My message to people would be - please use us, or lose us!
“We have shown with our investment the huge confidence we have in this town. Now we hope that people will support us, and the local businesses that we have in here.
“We hope we have got it right. If there is anything that people are thinking, then please come and talk to us. We are very much part of the local community.
“We are very enthused by the level of feedback we have had so far about the new Beales in Southport.
“Hopefully that is going to turn into people shopping here.
“The number of local concessions that are local here - people should be pleased about that. “This is not a store where the money that comes in is just going towards national brands. There are lots of local, local businesses here. We are talking to others about coming in too.
“Bringing local to local is one thing we are really trying to do.”
The opening of Beales in Southport at 9.30am this Thursday is expected to attract lots of shoppers, with some great opening offers.
The much-anticipated event is sure to be a busy one, with free gift vouchers of up to £200 for the first 150 people through the doors.
The weather forecast also shows another bright day in Sunny Southport.
Tony Brown said: “The weather is going to be on our side on Thursday! So hopefully we are going to have a big queue outside when we open.” Beales on Lord Street in Southport opens at 9.30am this Thursday, 12th August. To celebrate, they are giving the first 150 people through the doors a free gift voucher worth up to £200. You can spend this on anything you want, but it must be used on Thursday 12th August only. Voucher values available are £200, £50, £25, £10 and £5.
