Police called to Hoghton Street in Southport after a group of males seen acting suspiciously

Police were called to Hoghton Street in Southport at approximately 1.35 today after a group of males were seen to be acting suspiciously outside a block of flats.

A witness nearby said they appeared to be trying to steal bikes but this has not been confirmed.

Officers checked the credentials of the males and eventually allowed them to go on their way.
