Police called to incident outside the Scarisbrick Hotel in Southport

Officers from Merseyside Police were called to the Scarisbrick Hotel on Lord Street in Southport at approximately 12.10pm today (6th September). Officers arrived in three vehicles after reports of an altercation between a group of people.

A witness at the scene said that one person had another in a headlock. Police were in heated discussions with a group of people before one of them was taken away in a Police car.

The Police were on scene for just over half an hour before they all departed.
