You may have heard or seen some significant Police activity in and around West Lancashire last night. For your re-assurance I am happy to inform you of a positive result.
A stolen vehicle displaying false plates was first sighted by Lancashire Officers in Skelmersdale and it made off at speed. We shared this information to our colleagues at Merseyside Police. The vehicle was then later sighted near to Southport and following a pursuit where we were supported by Merseyside officers the stolen vehicle was eventually abandoned on Whitleys Lane, Ormksirk.
Assisted by the Lancashire Fire and Rescue drone, 2 suspects were subsequently located in the woodland area, and they have been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent and going equipped for theft.
A great piece of partnership working between 2 Police Forces who share a border and our friends at Lancashire Fire and Rescue.
