Police close off part of Sefton Street Southport as man climbs onto roof and throws slates into the street below

A man has climbed up onto a roof in Sefton Street Southport this morning at its junction with Virginia Street.. Police were called at approximately 10.30 following reports of a man throwing slates into the street below.

All the emergency services are on scene and police are trying to encourage the man to come down.

Diversions are in operation.
