Police cordon off part of West Street in Southport after man found covered in blood
Police have cordoned off part of West Street in Southport this morning after a man was found covered in blood on the pavement. They were called at approximately 8.20 to a property just past Scarisbrick Avenue.
The man was slumped against a garden wall covered in blood from a head wound.
A witness nearby said the man had been hit with a spade.
Paramedics took the man to the hospital. His condition is not known.
Police have now cordoned off a property as the scientific support try to establish the facts.
