Rotten Row flood update

The flood on Rotten Row close to the junction with Weld Road is getting worse. Sefton Council was contacted last week about the flood and they have been and put up a sign saying "Flood".

For anybody on foot, the road is impassable unless wellingtons are worn. Many vehicles are now turning around rather than risk driving through the dark murky water.

A spokesperson for Sefton Council said: “We are aware of the situation on Rotten Row and the Council is attending to remove flood water as required and as capacity allows.

“It is likely that the heavy deluge of rainfall we have seen over recent days has restricted flows within the drainage networks located across the borough and resulted in this flooding.

“Planned works to improve the draining network and overall flooding issue on Rotten Row are due to begin in the coming weeks.”
