Scarborough Athletic 2 Southport 0. Southport bottom of the league

A repeat of last Saturday’s result at Worksop and a similar performance.
Scarborough ran out comfortbale winners with a goal in each half, the first a fine finish from Stephen Walker on 26 minutes and the same player doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 78th minute.
Southport did create openings with Danny Lloyd through on goal but unable to control the ball when the score was 0-0 and Tom Moore went close in the second half.
It was Scarborough who went closest in the dying minutes when former ‘Port player Richie Bennett went through on goal but was denied by Chris Renshaw in the Southport goal.
A sorry afternoon for The Sandgrounders who ended the day in 24th place.
