Scarisbrick Swords: Southport's Rising Stars in Youth Fencing
Scarisbrick Swords fencing club has set a new record at the Youth Series grand final in Liverpool on Sunday by achieving six series winners. This result beats our prior best performance of four winners and two runners up in 2022. So congratulations go to our new epee champions: Freya (U17), Arthur (U17), Noah (U14), Anya (U12), Scarlett (U10) and Luke (U10). These young people have worked very hard on their technique over several years to achieve this level of skill and we are very proud of them all!
The Youth Series is a regional fencing tournament circuit awarding national ranking points to young fencers aged between 8 and 17. It attracts a mix of local club members and some national competitors looking for England international selection. All three sport fencing weapons are represented, but as a mainly epee club we focus all of our competitive training on that.
Scarisbrick Swords is an amateur sports club. We meet on Thursday evenings at the Southport YMCA, under 14s 6-7pm and seniors 7-9pm. If you would like to try fencing for yourself, We are running individual and small group taster sessions throughout the summer which you can join by contacting us via Text/WhatsApp on 07478 247846 or email at [email protected].
