Secure Your Vehicles, Southport Residents Urged Following Recent Thefts

A local Southport man has been arrested in the High Park area, on suspicion of thefts from motor vehicles.

We are aware from social media that several local residents have either witnessed a man trying car door handles or have CCTV/door camera footage overnight in this area, over recent days, but not all these incidents were reported to the police.

If you have any footage like this, it is important you call 101 to report it as soon as possible. Your evidence may be vital in obtaining the best possible result.

Always double check that you have left vehicles locked at night and remove ALL items of value.
