Sefton Council cleaning up the entrance to Southport Beach Car Park
Sefton Council is cleaning up the entrance to the Southport Beach car park. The car park has been closed since the end of the summer season last year. Every year its pedestrian access is only between 1st of October and the 1st of April.
This year the Council has not yet opened the car park at all. The Council said in early April that the sand on the beach was covered in silt left by the high spring tides and unsuitable for parking vehicles.
Today an attempt to remove the silt and mud has been made with large mounds piled up close to the entrance.
Sefton Council has been approached for comment as to when beach parking will resume.
