Families across the borough are enjoying a packed programme of free days out this summer, thanks to Sefton’s Family Hubs.

The programme launched on Tuesday 5th August with a fantastic visit to a museum in Liverpool, where families enjoyed a fun and educational day exploring exhibitions and spending time together.

The next day out will take place on Tuesday 12th August with a trip to Formby Pine Woods, offering families the chance to explore the great outdoors and enjoy quality time in one of the Sefton’s most beautiful natural settings.

Further trips planned for the school summer holidays include a trip to Hesketh Park and a seaside adventure to Crosby Beach.

Each day out includes activities led by Family Hubs staff, with families welcome to stay longer and continue exploring independently. These days out offer families across Sefton a fun, free and relaxed way to make the most of the summer holidays together.

Councillor Diane Roscoe, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools and Families, said:“Summer is a really important time for families to relax, spend time together and make memories.

"Our Family Hubs have put together a brilliant programme of free activities and trips that help make that possible for everyone. It’s a great mix of fun, creativity and community, and a real reflection of what our hubs are all about - welcoming spaces where families can come together, try something new and feel supported.

"There’s something for all ages, and it’s fantastic to see such a wide range of opportunities being offered right across Sefton.”

Alongside the day trips, families can visit their local hubs and enjoy a variety of free activities throughout the summer.

They can expect fun-filled sessions like a visit from the Bubble Man, the mystic DNA magic show, a pirate fun day, and a visit from the mobile farm, where children can meet their favourite farmyard animals.

There’ll also be nature hunts, arts and crafts days, and a chance to finish the holidays in style with a summer festival and circus skills day. Many of these activities also include a free lunch and are open to all families in Sefton.
