Serious accident on M57 avoid the area

Police can confirm that emergency services are on the M57 in Aintree after a serious road traffic collision, this evening, Thursday 28 May.

Just after 5.35pm we received a report of a collision on junction 7 of the M57 involving a grey Jaguar and a silver Mercedes which reared off the motorway.

The driver of the Mercedes is currently being treated by paramedics at the scene and road closures are in place from Switch Island on both directions of the motorway.

Please avoid the area while we deal with this incident. Further updates will be issued when appropriate.
