Soaring Southport Property Sales Indicate a Buzzing Housing Market
NEW homes in Southport are selling fast but those who act now could move in time to enjoy the summer in their new garden.
Eager buyers snapped up six properties at Balmoral Gardens in April and some house types have already sold out at the popular Elan Homes development.
While most of the homes are being purchased before they’re built, a small number of properties are almost ready to move into.
Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “We’ve maintained a steady sales rate at Balmoral Gardens but have seen an increase in enquiries in recent weeks which has in turn boosted sales. We sold six homes here in the last month alone – an indicator that the housing market in Southport is hotting up. While expect to be building new homes here through to 2025, we’re down to the final two properties with two bedrooms and have already sold out of some house types.
“There’s still plenty of choice available with a good mix of three and four-bedroom homes for sale. One lucky buyer could find they’re able to make a quick move as we have a four-bedroom detached Southwold that’s build complete. We’ve already fitted the kitchen and bathroom, laid the flooring, installed light fittings and blinds, turfed the rear garden and added an outside tap – it’s simply waiting for those personal touches that make a house a home.”
Current prices at Balmoral Gardens start from £197,995.
Plot 59, the readymade Southwold is available from £349,995.
It offers 1,283 sq ft of living space. The lounge, with feature bay window is at the front, and has double doors opening onto the combined kitchen and dining room. French doors open out from the dining area to the rear garden, while a utility and cloakroom adjoin the kitchen.
Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, one with en-suite, plus the family bathroom.
Buyers could find they’re able to access lower rate mortgages via Own New Rate Reducer, helping to make owning a new home in Southport easier to afford.
Own New works behind the scenes with housebuilders, including Elan, and lenders, to reduce the overall cost involved with mortgage loans on new build properties. Elan will contribute 3-5% of the cost of the mortgage, enabling the lender to offer borrowers more competitive interest rates during the initial period of their mortgage, usually in the first two to five years, depending on the length of the initial mortgage term.
The new homes at Balmoral Gardens benefit from having schools, shops and other essential services within walking distance. The beach and Southport town centre are just a few miles away.
Show homes at the development are open Thursday to Monday.
