It ended all square at Haig Avenue tonight with neither side able to break the deadlock.

The stats showed 17 goal attempts to 4 in Southport’s favour but despite the dominance the home side couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.

The injury issues that have plagued the club all season hit again with Luke Griffiths going off after just 8 minutes and Jake Taylor going off at half time and with a depleted bench once again it was another great effort against a full time side.

Chances came and went at regular intervals, particularly in the second half but no one to finish them off.

A frustrating night but manager Neil Danns rightly commented about how proud he was of the lads after another good performance.

We make the trip to an in form fifth placed Kidderminster on Saturday and that is followed by a visit to Radcliffe on Tuesday who sit in fourth place.
