A game that everyone thought would be flowing with goals looked to be heading for a stalemate but the never say die attitude of the inform Southport team was evident once again as Malakai Mckenzie came off the bench to grab a 94th minute winner.

It was the second week running that The Sandgrounders had secured all three points in added time but this was a deserved win after creating a host of chances.

Chance after chance went begging for Southport but some excellent ‘keeping by Cogman in the visitors goal looked like it was going to be enough to give them a share of the spoils until the late winner.

It wasn’t all one way. Chris Renshaw made a great save in the first half and three excellent stops in the second period preseved the clean sheet.

A fine performance with every player playing their part in an all round soild display that lifts Southport up to 17th place in the table.
