Southport 2 Radcliffe 2

A spirited second half comeback gave Southport a deserved draw after a first half horror show which saw Radcliffe go in with a two goal advantage.

Two defensive lapses proved costly but to the credit of the lads to keep it at 2-0 at half time left the game still open.

A much improved second half saw firstly Luke Burgess grab a goal from a long Chris Renshaw clearance before (there is some doubt about the scorer) Danny Philliskirk looked to have got a touch to a Danny Lloyd cross, both players are claiming the goal and the video is inconclusive. Philliskirk was credited with the goal at the time.

Tunde Owolabi had a great chance to give the home side all three points but fired against the post in added time.

As it was after nearly 7 minutes of added time the game ended 2-2 and neither side could have any complaints about the end result.

The Southport Brewery Man Of The Match who also receives the Andrei Le Roi Trophy and chosen by our Ball Sponsor was Jamie Proctor
