Southport 2 Warrington Town 0. Match report

match repoer

A very welcome win for The Sandgrounders picking up all 3 points on a foggy afternoon at The Big Help Stadium.

The visitors shaded the first half as Southport once again failed to find their touch in front of goal but went in to the break all square.

It was a much improved second half performance that saw Danny Lloyd fire home from close range in the 54th minute to end a goal drought that had extended to 505 league minutes and Sonny Hilton rounded off a good move with a good finish from 8 yards out to seal the points.

A third home clean sheet in a row and after a few early scares it was a relatively comfortable afternoon for the home side.

Line Up: Renshaw, Minihan, Doyle, Quansah, Knight-Percival, Moore, Lloyd (Morgan 82) Burgess (Angus 82), Hilton(Williams (70) Proctor, Philliskirk.
