Southport progressed to the semi-final of the Lancashire Challenge Trophy with a 4-0 win over Bacup Borough.

It was far from plain saling for The Sandgrounders in the first period with Bacup creating a number of good openings and they could esaily have gone in with a half time lead.

Danny Lloyd missed a penalty in the 37th minute after Luke Burges had been fouled in the box.

The second half saw a much improved Southport side run in four goals.
