Southport away to Warrington Town on Saturday

Southport make their first ever visit to Warrington for a competitive fixture on Saturday. This game kicks off at 3pm

The two sides have met twice before, earlier this season in the reverse fixture here at The Big Help Stadium when the visitors ran out comprehensive 4-0 winners and back in 1996/97 in a Liverpool Senior Cup tie which Southport won 7-0.

It was a dreadful opening day for The Sandgronders and a fantastic start for newly promoted Warrington.

Warrington have won 6 drawn 4 and lost 4 at Cantilever Park. Last Saturday saw a 2-2 draw against Alfreton with two very late goals and the equaliser coming deep into stoppage time via the head of the home ‘keeper.
