Southport fail to score for the 20th time this season

Former player Connor Woods comes back to haunt Southport scoring the only goal of the game in the 73rd minute for Chester, heading home at the far post.
In a game short on clear cut chances it always looked like one goal would be enough and so it proved as Southport remained scoreless for a record 20th time in a season.
Dior Angus did go close with a header straight at the ‘keeper but apart from that it was a similar story of a game lacking in goal scoring opportunities for the home side.
Chester had the better of the openings with Willoughby hitting the bar and completely miskicking when in front of goal.
We move on to Warrington on Easter Monday, the game kicking off at 3pm.
