Southport fall to defeat in disappointing fashion at Worksop.

As has been the case in most games so far this season we started brightly and had a couple of good chances in the first half with both Nathan Sandison and Aaron Pickles going close to giving us the lead.
Unfortunately the chances weren’t taken and with just one shot on target, a weak effort from Sonny Hilton late on in the first half. in the whole game, it was a difficult afternoon for the travelling Sandgrounders.
It was a stop start game from early on with a medical emergency in the first half delaying the game for 20 minutes, and we all hope the person concerned is well and the game never got flowing at any point.
Worksop came out of the blocks quickly in the second half and two goals inside 4 minutes in the 47th and 51st minutes put the game to bed and there was no way back with no meaningful attacks of note and a lot of wayward passing making life difficult.
Manager Neil Danns made four changes to the starting eleven with Ne-Jai Tucker, Nathan Sandison, Aaron Pickles and Callum Edwards all getting a first start.
Line Up: Renshaw, Lavelle, Moore, Tabone, Tucker (Murphy-Worrell 53), Touray, Pickles(Collins 62), Hilton, Sandison (Lloyd 76), Burgess, Edwards (Gnahoua 53).
Attendance: 697
