Southport FC Gears Up for Alfreton Encounter After Lacklustre Season Start
After a disappointing start to the season on Saturday, we will be looking to bounce back when we travel to Derbyshire to face Alfreton Town. Kick off is at 3pm.
Tickets for this weekend can be bought in advance from here: https://ticketpass.org/event/ECJWJD/alfreton-town-fc-v-southport-fc Tickets bought in advance also support the Alfreton charity partner Callum’s Voice. Ticket prices don’t change whether bought in advance or on the day. The game isn’t segregated so supporters can enter through any turnstiles cash and card is accepted on any turnstile too and is accepted throughout the ground at food kiosks and bars.
Alfreton started the season with a 3-1 defeat at South Shields and appear to have had a big change in personnel since we last played each other. Matt Rhead who has been a thorn in the side in recent matches wasn’t on the team sheet on Saturday and there are a few new names in the side this season
The Impact Arena is not a happy hunting ground for The Sandgrounders but it’s what happens on the day that counts. Our last win came in 2017/18 when a certain Steven Schumacher was on the scoresheet, he’s not done too badly for himself since then.
Alfreton are actually the team we have played the most at National League North level, this is the 19th league meeting between the teams.
The supporters coach is running.
