Southport Food & Drink Festival Underway in Victoria Park

The Southport Food and Drink Festival opened this afternoon after being cancelled last year and postponed earlier this year. There was a large queue of people waiting for the gates to open at 2.00pm today.

Once inside the park the visitors had a diverse selection of stalls to visit with a variety of foods and drinks to sample.

There is also a Craft Tent and a small gardening section.

Over the weekend, families are expected to flock to the park.

Cllr Marion Atkinson, Sefton Council's Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Skills, said: 

"The Southport Food & Drink Festival is finally returning and I know this will be music to everyone's ears!

"Our teams have worked hard to ensure we can host a safe and enjoyable bumper weekend of the best food, drink and much more for thousands of visitors.

"Foodie fans will love the hand-picked selection of the region’s most passionate producers, all of whom will be bringing their wares to the festival, including a wide selection of gift ideas and treats to relish at home.
